Logan Takahashi – Rekr

Logan Takahashi is best known as half of the production duo Teengirl Fantasy; heavily digitalised, cramped with internet nostalgia, and gaming aesthetic. He’s now releasing on Ghostly International as a solo artist and drawing TGF’s expansive sounds inwards to create an intimate study of rhythm and melody.

In his somber first single, ‘Rekr’, Takahashi offers up one of the best music videos we’ve seen in a long, long time. Eerie, confusing, lost, and completely bewitching. “We normally think of ‘technology’ and ‘organic’ as two separate things,” he says, “but computers are made of crystals and metals and magnets from the earth. That idea is interesting to me.”
