This prolific psych-folk outfit has been Pushing Onlys since 2005. Over the course of their 7 album spanning career, they’ve cleaned up their sound and studio in Brooklyn. Still very much true to the D.I.Y. ideal, Woods seems to have perfected the art of home-recording, not just for themselves, but for the band’s own Woodsist label as well. On stage their falsetto vocals and tape manipulations will transport you back to the psychedelic heydays of yesteryear.

Jacco Gardner:

This Dutch multi-instrumentalist, known for playing the keys in Lola Kite and freak-beat duo The Skywalkers, has recently started a solo-project under his own name. In February he released his first -already sold-out- 7″ single on Action Weekend records, containing two baroque-pop songs that sound like they came straight from the 60s. With his new release on the Chicago-based Trouble in Mind, it seems a bright future awaits him. Think early psychedelics featuring harpsichord and light orchestration, accompanied with grooving bass-lines and ditto drums.
