The meeting point between an electronic French quartet and and Ethiopian singer, finding energy in traditional and crowd-pleasing Ethiopian music manifests itself as uKanDanZ. Led by Asnake Guebreye, the alluring singer sprang from a spirited music scene in Addis Abeba and had a first successful ethio-european tour in 2010. As for the sound, it’s a steadfast blend of traditional music with rock, jazz and noise; the experience is a unique one, at the very least.
