In collaboration with the Stedelijk Museum, Trouw Amsterdam presents the series Trouw Invites…, inviting three international art institutions to transform Trouw’s basement area ‘De Hal’ into three distinctive exhibitions. Palais de Tokyo (Paris), Beirut (Cairo) and New Museum (New York) will consecutively turn the monumental space to serve as the stage for this unique collaboration in an environment where visual art and club culture confront each other head-on.
The first edition of Trouw Invites… welcomes the curator Rebecca Lamarche-Vadel of the art instituion Palais de Tokyo (Paris). In resonance with Trouw’s upcoming discontinuation, Lamarche-Vadel has invited the artist Fouad Bouchoucha (1981, Marseille, France) to represent the themes of transiency and temporality. For the exhibition Bouchoucha will create a new piece called Landscape (2014): an installation that invites the public to penetrate an unusual and mysterious environment.
The grand opening on 03 July will be hosted by Hendrik Folkerts (Curator, Stedelijk Museum).
