Textures with Avont, Abe, S. van Nieuwaal

Textures is a new event series showcasing boundary pushing electronic music from Amsterdam. This first edition will feature a unique triple bill of artists that will immerse you in deep layers of electronic textures, soundscapes, tape loops and live instruments.

Avont
Amsterdam producer Avont brings atmospheric electronics with elements from ambient, krautrock and jazz. He combines the use of tape loops, glitch and noise with guitar and synthesizers. Expect glowing melodies and stimulating sound collages. In addition to work from his EP ‘No.1’, there will also be a lot of new work to hear.

Abe
Only a few artists have managed to develop their own, unique style as perfectly as Abe, while remaining almost completely unknown to the general public. Abe’s music is strongly influenced by improv, free jazz and modern classical music and is sometimes demanding and almost clumsily suppressed. His work has been released on vinyl and cassette by Doumen Records and Kofla Tapes, and digitally by AEMC Records.

S. van Nieuwaal
S. van Nieuwaal will perform an improvised performance on a no-input mixing board, focusing on amplifying and manipulating the internal noise that lives within the circuitry of the Soundcraft Spirit FX8.
