Sarah Neufeld + Andrea the Dreamer

When Sarah Neufeld enters the stage with violin in hand, few are prepared for the dimension they are driven into. As an instrument that is too often restricted to orchestras and classical concert settings, Neufeld is working hard to find a space for it in a contemporary setting. Her latest album, The Ridge, out on Paper Bag Records, strikes a spontaneous conversation between her vocals and the tones of the violin. Often wordless, a space between pop, minimal and indie forms an intense narrative that captivates us from start to finish. Best known as a member of Arcade Fire, the Montréal based musician and composer is also a founding member of the acclaimed contemporary instrumental ensemble Bell Orchestre, and, as some of your will remember, performs alongside renowned saxophonist Colin Stetson.
