Pillowcase Vol. 3

19 February - Cinetol, Amsterdam
€15

Pillowcase events are concert nights curated by crashing, entirely dedicated to shoegaze. The third edition at Cinetol celebrates everything from deafening fuzz and gritty hooks to dreamy melodies and ethereal reverb, an evening for lovers of layered walls of sound to drown in.

Thrilled

Heavy shoegaze anthems with intriguing chords and enormous dynamic shifts, driven by deafening fuzz and thundering drums—that’s what thrilled is all about. While rooted in shoegaze, the band also draws from grunge, emo, and other genres. After shows at Left of the Dial and supporting RIDE on their Dutch leg of the EU tour, as well as Tramhaus, this young band is widely considered the most promising new shoegaze act. The loud, fuzzy cacophony of thrilled will give you goosebumps for the rest of the day.

Crashing

Inspired by shoegaze and alt-rock icons like Dinosaur Jr. and My Bloody Valentine, Crashing serves up a wall of reverb, gritty hooks, and cutting volume, all drenched in pure DIY energy. After selling out ACU for the second time, where the crowd went wild with pits, flashlights, crowd surfers, shout-alongs, and even 3DS recordings, the band once again proved how intensely and eagerly their live shows are received. Crank up the gain. Blast that drum kit. Bring earplugs.

Biatlón

Biatlón is a brand-new indie band from Amsterdam. While the band considers itself a modern dream pop act, they draw inspiration from jangle pop, Sarah Records, the C86 aesthetic, and everything connected to that scene. Since its formation in 2024, Biatlón has already undergone two lineup changes and released two singles: “Evergreen” and “Weather Diary.”

The band is currently working on material for their upcoming EP and preparing for live shows. They look forward to seeing you there.
