Ought seems to be the fortunate result of four expatriates meeting in Montréal, having given in to the Canadian attraction. New Hampshire vocalist and guitarist Tim Beeler – who is originally a folk musician – teamed up with New Jersey native Matt May, Australian drummer Tim Keen and Portland bassist Ben Stidworthy. Black Emperor, inter alia, making this year’s debut LP More Than Any Other Day all the more a baffling and welcome surprise.
