Cortical + Sara Persico & Mika Oki [full]

31 May - de Brakke Grond, Amsterdam
21:00 - 18-22

FIBER Festival’s audiovisual performance programme invites spectators to lose themselves within a journey of drone-like soundscapes and dance-inducing percussive beats.

The experience is enforced with a hyper-detailed universe of live audio-reactive CGI and hypnotic light scenographies. Cortical is the new project of Sevi Iko Dømochevsky & Daniel Benza. Their new project is a perfect balance between severe minimalism and over-the-top maximalism. Sara Persico & Mika Oki will present Sphaîra, an immersive sensory experience designed for deep contemplation.

Cortical (Live A/V)

Cortical (Sevi Iko Dømochevsky & Daniel Benza) are multidisciplinary artists based in Barcelona, specialised in music production, CGI, and VFX. Within the process of making their first EP, they drew influences from artists like Mumdance, Lee Gamble or Arca. They are world builders first and foremost. Either with their audiovisual creations or in the booth, their love for the weirdest mutations of the last 30 years of club music. Their DJ sets are eclectic, cathartic and overwhelming to the senses. Dømochevsky & Benza are also participants of the collective Rally 5G: a hyper-accelerationist group that looks to redefine the clubbing experience by bringing carefully crafted extreme sounding and delirious-inducing experiences to the dancefloor.

During this year’s FIBER Festival, the duo will perform an A/V show including the sounds from their first release of last December: Wretched Patterns and Terrible Mistakes. The show’s thematic core revolves around a vision of a future deprived of humanity, where autonomous computer intelligences roam unchecked, engaging in erratic experimentation, and forging corrupted, nonsensical life forms, all while generating a paradoxical order within the chaos. Expect dance-inducing, percussive beats, enforced with a hyper-detailed universe of live audio-reactive CGI.

Sara Persico & Mika Oki present Sphaîra (Live A/V)

Fractal and abstract imagery unfold into a hypnotic choreography, gradually turning the viewing experience into a journey inward—into the architecture of the eye itself. Sphaîra is an immersive sensory work, designed for deep contemplation.

At this year’s Festival, Sara Persico debuts her latest album Sphaîra for the first time in the Netherlands, accompanied by a mesmerizing light scenography by visual artist Mika Oki.

The performance is based on field recordings made inside Niemeyer’s dome in Tripoli, Lebanon, capturing the site’s echoes and distinctive acoustic energy. Through immersive sound and light storytelling, the artists recreate and transform the atmosphere of the space, expanding the audience’s sensory experience. The slow, deliberate visual shifts open a meditative dimension, inviting viewers to explore the edges of perception and presence.

Born and raised in Naples, Berlin-based sound artist / vocalist Sara Persico cut her teeth experimenting on the fringes of Naples’ fiery underground experimental/noise scene, developing a technique that would integrate her voice with analogue electronics, field recordings, and samples.

Mika Oki is a visual artist, DJ and producer born in Paris with a background in sculpture and electro-acoustic music, she explores the notion of intangible spaces and emotional landscapes through A/V installations, music and mixes.
