In 2000, Alberto Wauters left Uruguay to go live in a basement in Queens. Two years later he called his son, Juan, to join him. That’s when and where Juan Wauters found out that his library card gave him access to an abundance of new music, which inspired him to create his own compositions. These days Juan Wauters truly represents Queens, NY. He barely listens to any modern music and freaks out about how awesome The Beatles’ songs are. For him and his music, time stopped way back. His lyrics make up for playful yet pretty Spanish-y folk songs. People say that a strange thing happens when you go to a Juan Wauters show, so don’t miss it.
