Jenny Hval + Heinali & Andriana-Yaroslava Saienko [full]

Jenny Hval draws full houses with her mix of experimental pop songs, spoken word, electronica and soundscapes. She now presents her new album, Iris Silver Mist (4AD), inspired by her performance I Want to Be a Machine. Hval delves into themes such as gender, sexuality and identity, and effortlessly interweaves music, literature and art; it’s no wonder music magazine OOR describes her as a ‘Norwegian all-rounder’.

The Ukrainian duo Heinali & Andriana-Yaroslava Saienko opens the evening with Гільде’арда (Hildegard), a contemporary interpretation of the work of Hildegard von Bingen, the groundbreaking medieval mystic, healer and composer. Saienko’s Ukrainian vocals and Heinali’s modular synthesizers explore a raw spirituality, in which their experience of war also echoes.

FIBER Festival 2025
This evening is part of the 10th edition of FIBER Festival, an annual meeting place for audiovisual art, digital culture and experimental electronic music. The festival takes place from Thursday 29 May to Sunday 1 June, at various locations in Amsterdam.
