glimpse

20 March - ISO, Amsterdam
€10-12,50

On Friday 20 March, glimpse returns for its second audiovisual night at IsoAmsterdam. Musicians and visual artists are paired up for the first time for live multimedia performances, creating immersive sets on a large screen in an intimate setting.

Expect a textural hybrid set from Neska with cinematic visuals by Jonas Matteo, gritty trip hop beats from GATELESS paired with the real-time scenographies of Léa Ware, and ephemeral vocals by Ms. Palace merging with the layered visual language of Winta Ghebre. Keynu presents a live AV set, building his own raw, cinematic universe of sound and image. (in technical collaboration with Tharim Cornelisse). After the performances, Neska and the glimpse VJs shift the space into a dance night until 03:00 – or longer, if the energy feels right!

Neska

The Basque-born DJ and producer with roots in classical, jazz and punk music, masterfully blends genres to create captivating psychedelic musical experiences. Currently based in Amsterdam via Barcelona, the rising star has held it down at major Spanish festivals like Sónar and Primavera Sound as well as Dutch renowned clubs including Garage Noord, Lofi and RAUM. Out of the booth, she curates fauna & flora, a cutting-edge multidisciplinary event merging electronic music and art installations and hosts Neskafe, a new music radar show residency on Echobox Radio Amsterdam.

Keynu (live AV in collaboration with Tharim Cornelisse)

Amsterdam based artist Keynu makes music that feels physical, raw, and full of emotion, approaching it like making a soundtrack to a movie that doesn’t exist. Creating his own unique style with gut wrenching drums and sound design, beautiful introvert melodies, intuitive vocals, and sometimes dystopian atmospheres, he is also working on DIY typography, music videos, and designs, building a world around his music. Keynu is currently preparing his album CITY HEARTS, with tracks I’ll Never B, SLEWW, Ultracrapidarian, and GUTS already out.

Ms. Palace

Ms.Palace is a Hague-based artist, singer, and performer crafting dreamy, ethereal alternative R&B. She began producing at 16 before stepping forward with her own vocals, developing a sound built on distorted beats, nostalgic textures, and raw emotion. She uses her art as a form of therapy, exploring vulnerability, grounding, and emotional release through sound. Guided by instinct and honesty, Ms. Palace continues to shape-shift and expand her sonic world.

GATELESS

GATELESS is a music producer from Kansas, USA, currently based in Amsterdam. Through layered textures and grittiness in sound, GATELESS channels the experimentalism of computer music, ambient, trip hop, and dub techno scenes of the late 90s & early 00s, echoing these subcultures with contemporary tools and sensibilities.

Léa Ware

Léa Ware is a Brussels based visual artist combining real-time graphics, 3D & light to create visual narratives & time-based scenographies within the music and cultural fields.

WintaGhebre

winta is a visual artist and graphic designer based in Rotterdam. Her artistic approach explores the complex connections between her surroundings and the passage of time. This exploration encompasses various aspects such as nature, architecture, culture, and (geo)politics. Through careful analysis, she transforms these conventional and linear ideas into fresh and captivating objects and lush visual languages. In this way, she highlights often-overlooked, yet intrinsically important, elements of our environment.

Jonas Matteo

Jonas is a filmmaker and a film student at the Hogeschool voor de Kunst Utrecht. He desires to find and capture abstractions and motion in daily life. Although the images are abstracted through framing, camera settings and editing he hopes to evoke a feeling of wonder and nostalgia to the viewer. This can be a walk in a rainy forrest, a sundown seen from a moving train or lights reflecting in the night.
