Dublin’s all male Girl Band weren’t able to make it this past September, but we’ve locked them up for a January date. They head south to inject some of their rock venom into a Rotterdam crowd.

Even if you’re not a sexist, the phrase “girl band” most likely conjures up images of unnatural-seeming assemblages of overstyled lady hacks more touted for their looks than their songwriting skills. It did until today, anyway, since the Dublin outfit of the same odious name features four dudes with average style whose violent post-punk has a far above average ability to make you wanna smash beer bottles against the wall in a most un-ladylike fashion. Their self-produced 2012 EP, France 98, and cover of Blawan’s “Why They Hide Their Bodies Under My Garage” are both excellent.
