Gary War + Purple Pilgrims

Legend has it that the first thing avant-pop genius John Maus ever tweeted was “GARY WAR IS THE FUTURE”. While this might be a slight exaggeration, we have reason to believe that War may actually be from the future. Gary’s touring companions, Hong Kong-based outsider dream pop duo Purple Pilgrims, usher in the timewarp.

While this might be a slight exaggeration, we have reason to believe that War may actually be from the future; on his first full-length release, Jared’s Lot, he effortlessly extirpates our perceptions of the boundaries of psychedelic music and thrusts the whole genre forward drawing from the most unexpected of outside sources. Opening the show will be Hong Kong-based dream pop outsiders Purple Pilgrims and the ghosts living inside their amps.
