Lorely Rodriquez is the woman behind the musical moniker Empress Of. She broke through with her project Colorminutes in 2012, followed by a later retreat to Mexico to write, record and produce her true-to-its-title debut LP Me, which came out in September on Terrible Records. The intimate, rhythmically-focused pop collection caters the essence of solo artistry, and we’re thrilled to host Empress Of at De School. Moscow-born, Alaska-raised Olga Bell moved from classical piano to fiddling with varied genres, discovering her calling in electronic music and relocated to Brooklyn, New York. Based in Brooklyn at present, Bell is busy with her third third album that’s due out soon via Little Indian Records.
