This repetition-loving Chicago group have described theirs as ‘music for record collectors’. Although they had to say goodbye to Sonic Youth drummer Steve Shelley a while back, they still know how to create their steady and unmatched synthesis of post-punk and krautrock. After releasing their excellent third album Pre-Language last year, the band released the new full-length Era this summer, still via the Chicago-based Kranky label.
