Cesuur is a performative installation by Boris de Klerk situated on the overlay between sound art, choreography and installation.
Two performers explore the boundaries of their own relaxation and balance, microscopically enlarged by a sound installation consisting of an array of microphones that amplify each breath, each step and each shift.
A careful exploration of the space slowly turns into a melding together with, a rebelling against and a demarcation of the space. By slowing down, amplification and friction Cesuur tries to measure, incorporate and deconstruct the performative space; testing the boundaries of the focus and sensibility of the performers and the audience.
Cesuur is a search for the thin line between relaxation and focus on one hand and aggression and overstimulation on the other, with gravity as a starting point.
