Camilla Sparksss + Dawn Hunger

28 November

When Barbara Lehnhoff isn’t playing with Swiss Canadian art punk band Peter Kernel, she makes crunching, skittish pop  under the moniker of Camilla Sparksss. If you like your pop with a vintage edge, you are going to love this one. And for the second time this month Fuck Button’s Andrew Hung will be here, this time with his Dawn Hunger project that will be completing this tight double bill.

Attend event:

When Barbara Lehnhoff isn’t playing with Swiss Canadian art punk band Peter Kernel, she makes crunching, skittish pop under her Camilla Sparksss moniker. If you like your pop with a vintage edge, you are going to love this one since according to her bio, the music of Michael Jackson, Bonnie Tyler and Culture Club that was playing at the time of her birth, went straight through her umbilical cord (Lenhoff is also a filmaker and the video below was directed by her). Kicking off the night will be Dawn Hunger; vocalist Claire Inglis and programmer Matthew de Pulford return to take us on an electronic journey with their interpretation of Andrew Hung’s work that sounds something like a less dance-oriented Light Asylum.
