Birds of Paradise: CocoRosie – Little death wishes

Birds of Paradise presents:CocoRosie. For over twenty years, CocoRosie, the duo of Bianca and Sierra Casady, has been translating their love, adversity, and the ecstasy of their sisterhood into daring and highly original music. In a world of seemingly increasingly sterile cultural practices, CocoRosie offers a consistent counterpoint to the musical vanguard in the form of irrepressible artistic self-realization.

In this concert, they will perform their latest work, “Little Death Wishes.” Open and sensitive as ever, the songs tell a kaleidoscopic story of generations of hardship for women and the shattered realities of their lives, the precarious and precious nature of being human, of being wronged by love, and a final wish for wholeness. The work distills everything CocoRosie stands for to its raw essence: transforming pain into knowledge, sisterhood into militancy, clutter and trinkets into treasures, and kitsch and cliché into new truths.

Birds of Paradise Festival 2026

This performance is part of the Birds of Paradise Festival. You are cordially invited to the fifth edition of this festival at TivoliVredenburg from March 9th, 16th, and 18th to 21st, 2026. At Birds of Paradise, you’ll hear new, unique productions and genre-bending collaborations between various artists.
