Amarante Nat – Outline of a Whisper

23 May - Nieuwe Kerk, the Hague
27.50€

Composer and vocalist Amarante Nat (1995) will perform her two compositions in the Nieuwe Kerk in the Hague – delicate and meticulous works written for organ, voice, haprsichord and trombone. We recently visited her concert in Orgelpark and can’t recommend it enough.

Programme
Outline of a Whisper
A Freedom’s Lament

This program explores the boundaries of harmony as a sound phenomenon. “I feel at home in the poetry of spaces and I listen through movement,” says Amarante, who plays the vocal parts herself in her compositions. Her voice is accompanied by the beautiful combination of organ and harpsichord by Francesca Ajossa and trombones by Yiannis Bontis and Juan Cancer Navarro.

Amarante Nat studied composition at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague. In her compositions, Amarante is guided by sound, space and movement. She writes primarily for acoustic instruments with a focus on organ, brass, voice, string quartet and orchestra. Her work has been performed by the Residentie Orkest and at the Orgelpark, Dag in de Branding, DeSingel Antwerp, Muziekgebouw aan ’t IJ, Gaudeamus Festival, TivoliVredenburg, Eye Filmmuseum and STUK Leuven.
