With song titles such as ‘Homo Sapiens’, ‘I’m a baby’, ‘Old Fart’, ‘Tyrannosaurus Rex’, ‘Android Robot’ and ‘Tomboy’, you might think the Acid Baby Jesus boys are confused when it comes to their exact identity. But when it comes to their ambitions, they really do know what they want: ‘We have the tools and we have the talent. No show too small, no fee too big. We’re ready for anything.’ And yes, their 2011 self-titled LP, out on Slovenly Records, proved to be interesting, sporting psychedelic rock’n’roll, influenced equally by the Western pop past and Greece’s folk history. Whilst working on their second LP, they recently released their Vegetable EP. Deeper and deeper into the sonic soil they dig, harvesting fresh, organic ingredients for their psychedelic salad.
