Dutch indie rock veterans Hallo Venray counteract the negative energy of a thirteenth LP by centering its fourteen tracks around the days and nights of the week. Their album launch proves yet again this isn’t a bad about to fade away.
Attend event:
Hallo Venray are Dutch indie rock veterans to a tee. Starting out playing shows at squats, it only took a few years for the trio from The Hague to grab regular slots on nation radio and top slots at big festivals. And unless you count drummer Dim Veldhuizen’s departure in ’98, they’ve managed to stay very much in one piece throughout their quarter-of-a-century-spanning career. But perhaps they’re getting superstitious, because seemingly counteracting the fact that their new release Show is album number thirteen, it focuses its tracks around the number seven: a track for every day of the week, and a further seven for each night. One thing’s clear, this isn’t a band about to fade away.
