Exert! carves out autonomous space for collective, risk-driven making in an increasingly standardized and commercialized city of Amsterdam. Three raw improvisation nights bring together artists meeting musically for the first time, where form emerges through listening, interaction, tension. Organized by aural conduct and Amsterdam’s new recording & performance space Studio Tumbuh.
For the first session, Adhi and Seok Yun will present live experimental jam sessions, more info on the artists below:
Seok Yun is an Amsterdam-based performer and luthier. Their practice operates at the intersection of instrument making and live electronics, merging acoustic and digital systems into a unified performative language. Grounded in a background in double bass and a material-oriented approach to sound, they develop hybrid instruments and interfaces that rethink the relationship between performer, instrument, and space. Their work spans composition, improvisation, and sonic design.
Adhi is an Indonesian-born, Amsterdam-based sound artist and performer working with electronic composition and live sound. The work moves slowly, using repetition, abstraction, and strippedback electronics to stretch simple materials into pieces that feel minimal and fragile. Shaped by a DIY approach, the practice treats sound as something raw and gradually unfolding.
The sessions are recorded live as they unfold and developed toward a CD on @auralconduct. Stay
tuned as the project culminates in a release party planned later this year.
