Gespuys + Texoprint + MAHA + DJ Cristel Ball

1 May - De Nieuwe Anita, Amsterdam
€10-12

Uncompromising noise rock, heavy beats, sharp guitars and sizzling guitar at one our our favorite venues, de Nieuwe Anita.

Gespuys

The alienated duo Gespuys makes you dance on traumas, scrutinizes outdated standards, but doesn’t give a shit about it. With their versatile setlist, filled with songs like ‘Berend Botje’, ‘Inter-Minus-Net’, and ‘Afgeleefd (Ik Ben Een Man)’, they present the problem without assigning anyone a solution. They do all this under heavy beats, hypnotic synths, and cohesive guitars.

Texoprint

Texoprint  is a noise rock trio known for their intense live shows and uncompromising sound. With a mix of high speed and loud volumes, they create music in which sharp guitar riffs and piercing rhythms form a powerful, compelling whole. Beneath the raw surface lie songs with carefully composed compositions and themes that are personal, critical, and cynical. The band has built a strong live reputation with performances at festivals such as Best Kept Secret and Zwarte Cross, and their recent *Mumble EP* was positively received by audiences and the press.

MAHA
When MAHA sings that people should rise above the pursuit of profit, it comes from the very core of her being. The punk singer and DIY jack-of-all-trades lives in the north of the Netherlands but hails from war-torn Sudan. Her message is as simple as her music, but that makes it no less ambitious. Relying on the sheer power of her voice and her sizzling, bass-guitar-driven post-punk sound, she was one of the most exciting members of the quasi-collective Girls to the Front and has already made it to opening for Pussy Riot and DEADLETTER.
