SOW live at Ijzerstaven presents: TORSO. 
 
TORSO is a Japanese duo whose music for cello, flute, and tape pushes far beyond “polite” contemporary classical conventions. Released on their own Ozato label, their work echoes the work of artists such as Arthur Russell, Gavin Bryars, and Penguin Café Orchestra. Stripped-back yet plush, precise yet rippling with sonic detail, Torso’s sound is both refined and deeply rooted in the underground. With a background that stretches from avant-garde composition to hardcore, they craft music that subverts the boundaries of “high” and “low,” creating something unmistakably their own.
