On October 5th, Strange Therapy presents a label showcase with three distinct acts, each with their own personal take of struggling electronics.
Known for crafting vicious bangers that are meant to morph despair into anger and hope. Haringwey combines electronic music with the sweaty energy and message of hardcore and punk to deliver accessible yet powerful social commentary.
Restive Plaggona as Matriarchy Roots (GR)
Matriarchy Roots is the project of Corfu-based artist Dimitris Doukas, also known as Restive Plaggona and Leftina Osha. Matriarchy Roots is his most vicious project and taking the stage live for the very first time. Driven by anti-patriarchal ideas and rooted in industrial music, his sound palette is packed with creepy atmospheres/vocals, sharp noises and destructive soundscapes.
Jonathan Baker and Benedikta Ársælsdóttir explore as a solemn promise an emotional state of feeling isolated and seeking comfort in each other. The duo creates a sound that’s vulnerable yet abrasive, combining sonic elements of industrial and neoclassical. Taking turns on both suffocating and stunning (Icelandic) chanting, every note emotes soreness and slowly increases intimate menace.
