A poetic meditation on the last twenty-four hours in the life of Alexander, a sick writer. During his last day on earth, he meets an Albanian boy, who brings him out of his self-chosen isolation. Together they begin a quiet walk along his hometown and past his memories.
The renowned Greek filmmaker Theo Angelopoulos lets the viewer go on a hypnotizing journey with his dreamlike narrative style. Memories, thoughts, and finally a lifetime slip past us in a slow stream of images.
