Composition

Danya Pilchen & Kali Ensemble at Orgelpark

5 June - Orgelpark, Amsterdam
20:15 - 20€

Contemporary composer Danya Pilchen and Kali Ensemble take the audience on a journey of discovery through delicate dissonances along the resonances of the Orgelpark.

Kali ensemble performs Pilchen’s composition Paper Braids, written for four organs with live electronics. The piece combines algorithmic composition and Hyperorgan technology with creative listening modes, evoking intricate interdependencies between human and computer listening and how those translate into the relationships between time and space. Pilchen and the ensemble focus primarily on the coherence of these resonances with the way in which each listener experiences time and space. To this end, they combine self-developed composition techniques, the technology of the Orgelpark’s hyper-organ and ‘creative ways of listening’.

The people at Orgelpark have kindly offered a limited amount of free tickets for Subbacultcha members. Please make a reservation by sending an email to mailinglist@subbacultcha.nl with ‘Danya Pilchen’ in the subject line + your name in the email.
