Jojo Orme, emerging from the British post-punk scene is the name behind the gothic post-punk sound of Heartworms. On the 3rd of March, Heartworms brings a dark, raw and exceptionally defiant energy to Melkweg- an evening that you absolutely cannot miss if you’re a fan of the new British post-punk wave.
According to 3voor12, Heartworms is ‘the coolest band of the moment on enthusiast label Speedy Wunderground’. Named after the album of the same name by The Shins, where Heartworms draws inspiration from, including icons such as The Clash and Siouxsie and The Banshees.
Behind this emerging name from the British post-punk scene is Jojo Orme. With her fascination for military history, she creates dark, goth-inspired post-punk full of raw guitar licks. Her debut EP A Comforting Notion was created with none other than Dan Carey (known from Wet Leg and Fontaines DC) behind the controls.
The people at Melkweg have kindly offered a limited amount of free tickets for Subbacultcha members. Please make a reservation by sending an email to mailinglist@subbacultcha.nl with ‘Heartworms ’ in the subject line + your name in the email.
