Shortparis

All the way from St. Petersburg, Russia, Shortparis has unquestionably paved the way for the experimental indie-pop scene. Formed in 2012 Shortparis melodies create a sonic environment that forms their “audiotheater”, it’s a mishmash of ancient Greek tragedy with the sensuality of adolescence and their somewhat ‘confrontational’ themes. Sergey Kuryokhin, a Russian pioneering experimental artist, strongly inspires their work and what they stand for. Their third album was released last year and mocks the conventional perception of the industry.
