British indie-rock outfit Catfish and the Bottlemen, formed in Wales, initially started out by playing Beatles covers in local bars. But in the soundproofed room of singer Van McCann’s family bed and breakfast, they really hit it off and started looking for something more. Playing over 250 shows in 2012 and the beginning of 2013, they got signed. Last September, they released their debut LP, The Balcony, on Universal. Their single ‘Kathleen’ was produced by Arctic Monkeys producer Jim Abbsiss. Young, energetic and a tad nostalgic.
