Forget me not: Da Costakade 150

FORGETMENOT

We are many things but first and foremost we’re a sentimental bunch. And though we have already moved to a new space at De School, there was no way we could let go of our beloved old office at Da Costakade 150 without saying a proper goodbye.

The five years we spent there were some of the most productive and formative in Subbacultcha’s history: many a bands played on the rooftop and slept in the basement, Art Department residents made and unmade exhibitions, we wrote The Pilot Issue of the quarterly magazine there, and it’s also where we hatched our plans for the Local Area Network campaign. We even had an office cat called Snake Eyes.

To capture the traces of this glorious past, we invited photographer Maurice van Es to immortalize the empty office. He captured that bittersweet moment, that one last glance before you close the door and walk away forever.

Friday, 29 April, we will host a pop-up exhibition of just one day showcasing Maurice’s photo series Da Costakade 150. A limited-edition poster series will also be available, so you can take home a piece of the old office with you to keep as a memento. Needless to say, there will be drinks and nostalgic feels. Join us from 18.00 to 21.00!

Limited space available, please reserve a spot by sending an email to rsvp@subbacultcha.nl with ‘Forget me not’ in the subject line.
