Opera, Quasi Fortississimo is the result of the more than exciting team-up of Deerhoof drummer Greg Saunier and Belgian concert pianist Daan Vandewalle. Specializing in performing contemporary American music, Vandewalle has even worked with Sonic Youth.

Both artists studied at the infamous Mills College, but Sauniers’s idea to compose an eveningfilling piano piece dates from 2010, when he, as curator of Sonic City in De Kreun, had invited Vandewalle for a concert. And here we are, five years later, for an adventurous confrontation! Icing on the cake: Festival van Kortrijk invites you to the world première!
