Subba x American Apparel

Few things clasp together as well as fashion and music – both are about style and expression. The ethos and inspiration that merrily sways in their overlap is a constant source of insight to subba so it seems only natural for us to support the upcoming American Apparel party by bringing some of our favourite contemporary acts; BEA1991, Idiott Smith and deadHYPE.

We may no longer have characterised tribes like the punks and skinheads of the past; but we do have vivid and creative fashion that is intensely bound up with real, living club culture old and new. Changing trends quickly spill over from the club to the catwalk with subcultures aligning their sense of style into a style of sound. Their relationship is inescapably intertwined. Now, instead of waiting for these trends to bubble up from the street to the designers, we’ve decided to reach out to musicians whose personal style reflects the carefree, classic cuts of American Apparel.
