EXHIBITION: GERDA POSTMA
Monday 13 August 2012 at 3:54 pm
Starting Monday August 20th, Subbacultcha! HQ is hosting the exhibition 'Aura' by local artist, Gerda Postma. Entrance is free, feel free to drop by!
In August we will host a special multi disciplinary project in our exhibition space. 'Aura' - By artist Gerda Postma. Postma is an Amsterdam based artist using different media varying from projections to drawings, clothing and hair sculptures. In search of the seemingly lost link between humans and nature, Postma created an estranging installation that refers to Walter Benjamin's theory of the disappearance of 'the aura' in modern life. Hand-painted clothing, accessories and drawings are shown alongside a giant sculpture that starts 'breathing' when it's being approached. Michiel Klein, (Eklin / Mike Koldin) contributes to the project with an improvisational sound piece.
The opening will take place on August 17th at Subbacultcha! HQ. We will provide free Warsteiner beer and some delicious food, so feel free to join us and bring a friend!
If you would like to come to the opening please RSVP at RSVP@subbacultcha.nl
