We’re excited to announce our collaboration with Amsterdam’s most romantic movie theater, Filmtheater de Uitkijk. Known for its diverse programming, this entirely student-run cinema regularly organizes captivating ‘specials’ – curated collections of films united by a common theme. Additionally, they treat their audience to a classic movie screening every month. As a special perk, Subbacultcha members can enjoy select screenings of these specials and classics at no cost.
After a summer hiatus due to renovations, de Uitkijk has thrown open its doors once again, and they’re kicking off their reopening with a special event titled ‘Fuel to the Fire.’ In the context of the thought-provoking film ‘How To Blow Up A Pipeline,’ de Uitkijk will delve deeper into the complexities of violence within resistance movements. When the path of pacifism appears inadequate, is it justifiable to resort to more forceful methods? To explore this question, they’ve curated a selection of six films, each offering its unique perspective on this contentious issue.
Subbacultcha members can attend the mentioned screenings for free. There are limited spots available. One can make a reservation by sending an e-mail to info@uitkijk.nl, citing the name of the film in the subject line of the email. Please show your membership card at the box office.
