Film: Stop Making Sense

27 February - Studio/K
00.30 - €5 - Free for members

This concert film by new-wave rock band Talking Heads, Stop Making Sense was shot over three nights at the Hollywood Pantages Theatre in December 1983 as the group toured their latest album, Speaking in Tongues. Hailed as “one of the greatest rock movies ever made,” it’s a concert movie – but it’s also somewhat of its own beast.

Featuring costumes, bizarre choreography and allusions to movies like Breathless and Dr. Strangelove, Stop Making Sense is both performance art and an uplifting rock experience. Directed by Jonathan Demme, the film builds with each change of scene, every addition to the stage, becoming more intense and euphoric as it stamps towards its exuberant conclusion.

PLEASE NOTE: This event is sold out. There is a limited number of spots reserved for members at the entrance.
