Front Row presents: Donna Verheijden Trilogie – Private Viewing + Artist Talk

24 May - De School, Amsterdam
20.00 - €7,50 - Free for members

We Are Public’s Front Row presents a private viewing of the latest three videoworks of filmmaker and Sandberg graduate Donna Verheijden – paired with a talk with the artist herself. In her work, Donna Verheijden displays her understanding of mass and social media – centralizing on its seductions and underlying power structures. Handsome people, luxury and commercial-like lifestyles. A glossy decoy to something far more complex and dark – touching upon themes of hedonism, privacy and fixation. Donna makes us ask; sugar-sweet or rather sour-patched? All in the classrooms of De School.

Front Row will present Verheijden’s All the World’s a Stage – Ways of Seeing, Land of Desire – Happy is the New Black and her brand new visual essay Kiss the Sky – Eye Trick the I. The three works form a trilogy, which has never been displayed back-to-back, on our contemporary imageculture and mediascape. In the presence of the artist, this will be the debut of Verheijden’s trilogy.

To secure a spot please reserve a free ticket and don’t forget to bring your Subbacultcha pass when attending the viewing!

After the artist talk and viewing you can enter the club of De School for €18, or, on display of your Front Row ticket, for €10 (between 23.00 and 00.00). House rules and door policy of De School are valid.

Front row is the ongoing cultural experiment by We Are Public.
