Boyz N the Hood is a passionate drama shot with fluency and style, a study of what amounts to life during wartime, with people grimly used to gunfire and helicopters banging overhead. This 90s coming-of-age urban classic is definitely a must-see on everybody’s list.  Eyeshadow presents Boyz in the Hood. John Singleton’s debut film, with little to no director experience, directed Boyz n the Hood, a movie focused around three African-American brothers growing up in South Central Los Angeles. This socially and politically embedded movie points the camera at real issues in society and explores the value of human life, and how tragic it is when those values are ignored. On the 21 March, Boyz n the Hood will be screened at the Eye Filmmusuem followed by a performance by Sor, one of the creative brains of Black Acid.
