Amsterdam Student Film Festival

After last year’s resounding success, Amsterdam Student Film Festival is back in action, hosted this time at the charming FC Hyena.

On February 4, 2025, the Amsterdam Student Film Festival (AmsFF) 2025 will take place at FC Hyena in North Amsterdam. This event is organized in collaboration with MUBI, Cineville, and Subbacultcha. From 9:00 PM to 11:00 PM, the nominated films will be screened in both halls. The AmsFF team has curated a program featuring the best short student films of 2023/2024, submitted by schools such as the Gerrit Rietveld Academy, HKU, UvA, and international schools outside the Netherlands. All films will include English subtitles.

At 11:00 PM, a closing ceremony will take place in Hall 2, where the nominated filmmakers will be put in the spotlight. Starting at 11:15 PM, there will be an afterparty featuring DJ SquidEye. The afterparty is free to attend, even for those without a festival ticket, offering a unique opportunity to meet film enthusiasts and filmmakers!

The main goal of AmsFF is to create a platform for student filmmakers, enabling them to bring their vision to life, regardless of the resources at their disposal. The festival aims to provide a space where these filmmakers can share their work, network, and learn from one another. This is a festival made by and for filmmakers on the fringes of the film industry.
