Film Theater de Uitkijk presents a series of arthouse movies this fall.
3-Iron, directed by cult favorite Kim Ki-duk, is a subversive and boldly creative film from Korea.
A young, lonely drifter from Seoul temporarily squats in the empty homes of vacationers. In each house, he carefully attends to various household chores: he does the laundry, waters the plants, and fixes broken items. When he mistakenly assumes a silent house is empty, he enters, only to discover it’s inhabited, leading him to form a unique bond with a resident left behind. The touching and fable-like love story embodies the well-known saying: “a house is not a home.”
