Vacancy: Partnerships & Communications Lead

We are looking for a new partnerships & communications lead!

You will be responsible for creating Subbacultcha’s partnership program, in collaboration with organizations, venues and festivals, and for managing and executing Subbacultcha’s marketing & communications.

You’ll be working alongside Subbacultcha’s program lead, who is responsible for curating and booking Subbacultcha’s own events, and Subbacultcha’s production lead who is in charge of smooth operations. Also, you’ll be jointly guiding at least one intern. You’ll be embedded in the overall structure of De Nieuwe Cultuur Stichting (Subbacultcha & We Are Public) and will have regular contact with it’s two directors.

We’re looking for someone who:

  • has experience in curating
  • has experience in communications & marketing
  • has experience in writing editorial
  • is always up-to-date of what is happening culturally in The Netherlands
  • is always searching for new music, films, theatre & art
  • has an interest in community building
  • has an interest in producing and preserving arts and culture
  • has an interest in making this world a fairer place
  • is a good communicator
  • is interested in meeting new people
  • is able to create, keep and adjust a good overview
  • likes to negotiate 
  • has an eye for detail
  • has proficient writing skills in English & preferably also Dutch
  • can start September 2nd

You’ll be:

  • managing Subbacultcha’s current partnerships
  • exploring and forging new partnerships
  • managing and executing Subbacultcha’s marketing & communications channels
  • managing and executing Subbacultcha’s editorial channels
  • managing and executing Subbacultcha’s advertisement channels
  • managing and executing Subbacultcha’s campaigns
  • thinking along about Subbacultcha’s communities and perspectives
  • working (freelance) an average of 16 hours a week

About Subbacultcha:
Subbacultcha is an Amsterdam based art and music platform, devoted to emerging artists and a curious audience. Subbacultcha hosts a program, consisting of self-produced concerts and partner events. We curate events in a wide range of venues in Amsterdam, for instance in OT301, Dokzaal, Cinetol, Muziekgebouw and Garage Noord. Partners we work with a lot are FIBER, Sonic Acts, We Are Public, Rewire, Melkweg, Filmtheater De Uitkijk, murmur and Dour Festival. At the core of our platform lies the Subbacultcha membership. The membership helps us to create, sustain and grow a sustainable community and infrastructure for all of this to thrive.
