17.00 - €12,50 day + afterparty | €10 afterparty - Free for members

From 30 March until 3 April, Unfair Amsterdam takes over the Zuiveringshal of Amsterdam’s Westergasfabriek with the latest, unprecedented work of state-of-the-art talents. We’ve teamed up with our friends at Unfair to take part in the festivities of art and music.

Between 17.00 and 21.00 Subbacultcha will turn Unfair into a fun, intimate environment with music djs and performance artists.

Fashion phenomenon Sophie Hardeman’s star is rising fast, so we’re very excited to have her join us for Subbacultcha <3 Unfair. After already having had her way with the Unframed by Unfair patches in a raw, stylish editorial for Subbacultcha magazine, at the fair we enjoy the live experience of a classic Hardeman whirlwind of blues, denim, beautiful people and small pets.

Former residents at The Art Department of Subbacultcha Julie Héneault, Margaux Parillaud, Line Gry-Hørup & Ursula Marcussen return for a special intervention at the fair ground. They combine dance and exercise into a performance to which the sounds of their movements will form the soundtrack. Spectacular in its subtlety – the sober presence of the quartet’s Zen is absolutely contagious and inspiring.

Goof Kloosterman, current resident at The Art Department and participant of Unfair, works together with his partner in crime Hannah Carpenter to poke holes in our understanding of the spectator and the spectated by switching around roles and archetypes. During Subbacultcha <3 Unfair there will be a special long-distance performance in their dual installation, creating those all-round confronting, multi-layered, inevitably interactive and confusing fun times.

Directly after the art programme curated by Subbacultcha at Zuiveringshal, we’re moving over to Westerunie for a party that goes on until the small hours of the night. From 20.30 on, Westerunie gets filled with sounds by a range of locally based artists, with a bill including a line of amazing musicians: The Hague’s Luuk Graham aka FilosofischeStiltes in combination with Amsterdam talent BEA1991 will carry an eclectic mix of hip-hop and electronic beats. That’s not all; Torus x ytho as well as Amsterdam-based ENKA are there to work up a nice blend of innovative electronic beats to dance to through the night.
