Eyedress

After his first five years of life in Manila, the Philippines, Idris Vicuña’s family packed up and relocated to California-via-Arizona. Under the Californian sun the 13 year old Vicuña’s fate was sealed to music, playing bass in a Crass-influenced crust punk band. In 2005 he returned to Manila, bonded with Julius Valledor and formed Bee Eyes. Several EPs and valuable lessons from Valledor later, Vicuña began working on solo material, resulting in Eyedress. Soon enough the digital world was buzzing and he was opening for acts like How to Dress Well and Grimes. We’re restless and ripe for Manilla Ice (out on 12 May via Lex) and there’s only one thing to do – Let’s party it up at Sugarfactory.
