Deaf Wish

12 July - Wunderbar, WORM, Rotterdam
20.30 - Free For All

When Deaf Wish found themselves in a room together for the very first time, they agreed on a guiding philosophy: “Let’s not make anything that’s going to last. If we’re together for just two shows, then that’s what it is.” But, after 8 years, the Melbourne quartet—bassist Nick Pratt, drummer Daniel Twomey and guitarists Sarah Hardiman and Jensen Tjhung, with each member contributing vocals— have surpassed their own expectations and stuck it out. They’ve just released their debut EP, Pain, which tirelessly thrashes around Punk, Rock, Alternative, Noise, kicking out frantically to create a dull emotional ache. At times they sounds like they’ve been scrapped along barbed wire until, suddenly, you find yourself in a moment of droning guitars and baselines with subtle vocals surfacing through the hurricane.

They recently claimed; “If you play a bad show- your whole life has been a waste of time”. So we’re warning you: leave the weary hearts at the door.
