Prince Rama

Beside the musical side of Brooklyn’s Now Age duo Prince Rama, the multimedia explorations plus the aesthetic element of the two sisters is fascinating. So intrigued by the pair, we’ve found ourselves stuck in an Insta-hole more often than once while voyaging through the account of _princerama_. We asked Taraka and Nimai to throw a little light on what happens in their world; here’s what they responded:

A pummeling, voluntary thrust into the heart of darkness at the speed of light; a face-first bungee jump off the mortal coil into the gaping canyon of forever; a fistful of snow hurled at death’s grin from high on a ski-lift doomed to eternally climb the summit-less mountain; a motorcycle falls from a tear in Hell; a tesseract constructed out of a half pipe slows down time as life flashes before your eyes in vivid colors; a pastless, futureless XTREME NOW unwinds before you, interrupted only by the consumption of a mysterious glowing green liquid oozing from a shiny aluminum can marked “ENERGY…” Welcome to terrifying lost world of Prince Rama.

This was actually going to be the original album cover for Xtreme Now. Then we realized butts sell. This is too complicated and existential. Butts are just so simple.

We 100% deny any false claims that we’re hippies. This is blackmail.

I failed my motorcycle safety course, so now we just pose on motorcycles instead.

Us posing wearing our fake motorcycle gang custom jackets. This one is based off Parmenides I and II from a Philip K Dick book.

The problem with most contemporary art is just perspective. I think most art looks way better from inside a jacuzzi, so we just installed this one in the middle of our show at the Indianapolis Museum of Contemporary Art.
