It’s been a while since we last laid eyes on musical chameleon Yannick Ilunga, aka Petite Noir. Though never one to easily blend into the pop music landscape, the South African producer has an undeniable capacity to reflect and internalise eclectic influences, combining post-punk and African musical traditions into a rare yet distinctly recognisable disguise, his very own genre – Noirwave.
