Premiere: Holy Motors – Heavenly Creatures

We are most happy to premiere the first track of Estonian three-piece Holy Motors’ Heavenly Creatures b/w Running Water 7”, about to be released by New York’s Wharf Cat Records.

Holy Motors found their way to New York through the likes of WMerchandise’s golden boy Carson Cox, where the final mix of the tracks was put in the brilliant hands of Ben Greenberg. Some great collaborations led to the first vinyl release of the Tallinn-based band.

Heavenly Creatures b/w Running Water doesn’t sound unfamiliar to some of the twangy, early Ukiah Drag Wharf Cat Records released in 2013, but Holy Motors has a seemingly effortless way of weaving in their mesmerizing, dark melodies.

The thoughtful minimal compositions of the mysterious threesome have us on the edge of our seats, not fully being able to grasp the magic in between the notes. From their perfectly meaningless band name to the completely unrevealing cover art, for now Holy Motors’ truly hypnotizing Heavenly Creatures just leaves us curious for more.
