Two Years of Berlin Community Radio

Two years ago to date, two Berlin expats Anastazja Moser & Sarah Miles launched the independent project of Berlin Community Radio, gifting listeners around the world with outlandish culture and hot off the press music shows around the clock. In addition to a team of eight pulling the strings, BCR has over 70 contributors made up of musicians, labels, artists, institutions, and local Berlin devotees. The voluntary and priceless input of all parties plus expounders has spawned Berlin Community Radio to what it is today – a product of social and cosmic synergy. While we remain faithful listeners with plenty of favorites of our own, we thought it wise to leave it up to the creators to share some of the best of moments. So without further ado, dig in to the hand-picked selection by BCR queens Anastazja & Sarah.

1. HUNEE

Hunee is an old friend and one of our very first contributors. He started out with us until he sadly left Berlin for L.A and now Amsterdam, and this show is a definite highlight.

2. DREEA

Dreea is another one who stayed with us from the early on and here is one of her first shows featuring a live performance by Cakes Da Killa.

3. PLO/ JM MOSER / ZANZIBAR 3 Hours Special

The late night Wednesday sessions by PLO Man & JM Moser have featured a wide variety of guests and seldom were either advertised or archived, so for those who missed out we can only say, keep it locked on Wednesdays and never miss out again. 4. WELCOME TO THE ROOM

Welcome To The Room with Lena Willikens – the show that started it all. Anastasia and Sarah curated & hosted over 60 shows over the past 5 years and here is the one with Dusseldorf’ Lena Willikens – the most pro of the amateurs.

5. YOU’RE WORTH IT

Claire Tolan has since became an international star ASMRartist, won a prestigious Radio Lab award at CTM Festival, performed at Berghain with Holly Herndon and is currently on sound residence in London, but she never stops producing radio shows exploring the internet born tingling sensation of ASMR phenomenon.

6. WE JUST MET

Hosted by Michael & Phil, who had just met and decided to do a show, We Just Met is the two bonding over a love for jazz, they’ve developed their relationship in the studio sharing records, tea and stories. Sit back and list to ‘The Sound of Martini’.

7. WELCOME TO BERLIN with EASTER

A BCR Landmark show produced in cooperation with Musicboard Berlin, WtB features up-and-coming Berlin based bands and the one with Easter is a relaxing ambient two hour live salad making session you shouldn’t miss.
