Launched just over a month ago at Galerie Bart Invites, Platform Platvorm is a brand new Amsterdam-based art publication that vows to put the artist first. Adhering to an “open call” policy, the new magazine serves as a platform (“hint hint”) for aspiring, emerging and established artists from which they can launch or spread their new works sans interference. A collection of roughly 100 artists, the works exhibited in The First Issue Part 1 cover a diverse range of media, from photography to illustrations, paintings to digital art. There are even a few familiar faces inside, previous Subbacultcha contributors Annegien van Doorn, Fleur van Dodewaard and Lotte Reimann are all featured.
